Description
Original fine lithograph, produced using Clair Offset four colour photogravure; printed on the presses of the Arte Adrien Maeght in 1977; shortly after the original painting was finished by Lindner.
The literary content of Lindner's works is effectively enhanced by their purely aesthetic character. Colours are violent, often strident, and their interaction, always extreme, is frequently shocking. The characteristic compositional configurations are deliberately disjointed, awkward, unusual, compelling the eyes and mind to make startling and sometimes uncomfortable adjustments. Nothing is quite normal, quite as experience of the everyday world leads one to anticipate, with the result that intellectually as well as visually the beholder is constantly led to ask unexpected questions and to receive often-unpleasant answers.
