First edition collotype in fine condition, without colour loss or fading.
The Nazi regime heavily censored and banned avant-garde, modern art, including post-impressionism and cubism, labelling it "degenerate". By publishing the vibrant, geometry-defying Mont Sainte-Victoire series in the mid-1940s, Éditions du Chêne kept banned French modernism physically circulating right under the noses of German censors.
Framed and glazed; contemporary raw wood frame.
