PICASSO, Pablo
- Picador, (1959). Published in the very first edition by Cercle D'Art, Paris for Galerie Louise Leiris in 1962.
Description
- Linocut in colour, without fading or colour loss. Produced during Picasso’s lifetime and overseen by him. The original linocuts were pressed following Picasso’s own reduction technique. Together with Galerie Leiris, Picasso had agreed to publish the first portfolio of those originals at 42% of the size. This 1962 first edition therefore became scarce due a much superior quality to the reprint editions which followed in later years.
- Framed and glazed; wood with black finishing, mount elevated over bone black.
- Image, 26.3x22.1cm; external, 42.1x32.7cm.
