Description
Linocut in multi-colour; without colour loss or fading.
The original linocuts were pressed following Picasso’s reduction technique with gradual and layered addition of colour. The intricate display of colour and technique in this work, is a result of the technique and makes it the most desirable lino print of the series.
Produced during Picasso’s lifetime and overseen by him. Together with Galerie Leiris, Picasso had agreed to publish the first portfolio of those originals at 42% of the size. This 1962 first edition therefore became scarce due a much superior quality to the reprint editions which followed in later years.
Framed and glazed; wood frame with black finishing. Custom mount, elevated over bone black.
