PICASSO, Pablo
Etudes avec le Toreador et la Femme/Studies with Bullfighter and Woman; in fine heliogravure, printed in the first edition by Cercle d’Art, Paris in 1961.
Description
Fine heliogravure from the collected studies of Toros y Toreros.
In these drawings Picasso used a brush ink wash technique that allowed him to capture the rapid, violent movements of the bullring with loose, gestural strokes. Interspersed with the bullfighting scenes are images of Jacqueline Roque, who was 46 years younger than Picasso and became a central figure in his late graphic work.
In near fine condition, without colour loss or fading.
Framed and glazed.
Image, 36.3x26.7cm; external, 47.4x37.1cm.
