Original colour lithograph poster (demi-affiche format). Margins intact, displaying full typographic credits to the lower edge: ‘Imp. CHAIX, 20 Rue Bergère, PARIS’ to the lower left; ‘Ateliers GRÜN, 31, Bᵈ. Berthier (Déposé)’ centered.
An unrestored, unbacked example on original thin wood pulp paper stock. The sheet shows uniform atmospheric toning and a natural amber patina consistent with age. Subtle, even attenuation to the organic red and pink pigments, which have mellowed to a coral-salmon tone. Some minor and localized nicks and chipping to extreme outer edge along lower perimeter. A structurally sound and exceptionally scarce surviving original.
While the large-format billboard versions were distributed directly through the commercial printing operations of Imp. Chaix, this smaller demi-affiche variant bears the specific workshop imprint of Grün’s personal studio at 31 Boulevard Berthier, denoting a smaller print run for interior café or shop window exhibition. Examples of this specific print layout are retained in the permanent graphic arts archives of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, Paris.
