Lithograph in multicolour, signed and numbered by John Piper (1903-1992). This work is typical of his architectural portraiture and depicts St James’ Church in Leckhampstead, Berkshire. The church was designed by the High Victorian architect Samuel Sanders Teulon. The spelling of the architect's surname contains a typographical error ‘Teulor’ engraved directly onto the printing plate.
The work was printed under the supervision of Stanley Jones at the Curwen Studio, London, using multiple zinc plates to achieve the distinct tonal overlays.
Framed and glazed, original 1960s wooden frame with black finishing.
