Original stone lithograph in multicolour. Fine condition and without colour loss. Bright and clean throughout. Framed and glazed; mounted over solid black. Minor wear to frame’s extremities, otherwise very good.
Joan Pere Viladecans (b. 1948) is one of the most compelling figures to emerge from the great tradition of Catalan modernism — the lineage that gave the world Picasso, Miró, and Tàpies. Self-taught and fiercely original, his work shares with Miró a deeply poetic visual language of symbolic forms and dream-like imagery, where colour and composition transcend literal representation to speak directly to the imagination. Like Tàpies, he treats the picture plane as a site of memory and material meditation, incorporating organic elements — rust, wax, sea water, squid ink — into compositions of striking emotional depth.
