  • Prior to the war, Henry Moore was heavily associated with Surrealism. The raw empathy he felt for defenceless Londoners forced a permanent shift in his career toward a more compassionate and humanist vision of the human form. The wartime sketches were fundamental in this development.
  • Framed and glazed; contemporary wooden frame, navy finishing, with acid-free mount.
