A fine lithograph, offset; very good impression with good alignment; professionally tipped and presented in its aged hardwood frame.
Our last remaining Braque piece as presented by Parsonage Studio. Housed in their unique and hand finished wooden frame; in bone black with multicolour; crown stamped to verso.
Fortified by his solitary work at L'Estaque and by the sense of delight that he experienced there, Braque returned to Paris to meet Matisse, who strongly encourages him to continue on the course that he had adopted. By 1907 his colour underwent further development, being at times fluid and airy, at times almost oriental in its extreme richness and saturation, as in this picture. Yet it is always vibrant, varied, and almost pearly, and invariably produces an enticing impression of carefree enchantment without ever falling into the least excess.
