His work also drew profound influence from medieval ecclesiastical statuary—specifically the 12th-century Chichester Reliefs—as well as the spiritual-erotic theories of philosopher Ananda Coomaraswamy. His work adorns some of the nation's most notable public buildings, including Westminster Cathedral and Broadcasting House.
