  • In excellent condition, minimal handling marks and without fading.
  • Throughout his career, Eric Gill moved in influential circles alongside prominent contemporaries such as the sculptor Jacob Epstein, the painter and critic Roger Fry, and the artist and poet David Jones, who was a member of Gill’s religious craft community at Ditchling. His work also drew profound influence from medieval ecclesiastical statuary—specifically the 12th-century Chichester Reliefs—as well as the spiritual-erotic theories of philosopher Ananda Coomaraswamy. His work adorns some of the nation's most notable public buildings, including Westminster Cathedral and Broadcasting House.
