DELANEY, Arthur
- The Royal Exchange, Manchester; numbered and signed by Delaney. Published in an edition of 650, by Saville Fine Arts Ltd.
Description
- Framed, glazed, mounted; large gilt wood frame.
- Near fine or better with no colour fading or toning of paper. Some wear to the frame’s extremities, otherwise very good indeed.
- Signed and numbered in pencil to lower right and left respectively.
- Delaney’s painting was influenced by the work of L. S. Lowry and certain similarities can be seen, however in the main, his work is in oils and represents Manchester in the 1930's, often featuring trams and symbolic connection and disconnection in his subject.
