GIACOMETTI, Alberto
- Nu; fine lithographic print published by Maeght Éditeur, Paris in 1961.
Description
- Lithograph on vélin paper. First edition. Published as a key plate for Derrière le Miroir (No. 127, May 1961) to accompany Giacometti’s solo exhibition at the Galerie Maeght.
- A near-fine, bright, and exceptionally clean impression, completely free of the usual foxing or toning.
- The work captures the peak of Giacometti’s post-war draughtsmanship.
- Framed and glazed; contemporary black gallery frame. Superficial scratches present to a small area of frame’s face, otherwise excellent.
- Image, 37.8x27.6cm; external, 40.7x30.8cm. A superb, well-preserved example of mid-century Parisian printmaking.
